Roxbury Township
Located 36 miles west of New York City in Morris County, New
Jersey; Roxbury Township is 21.88 square miles and has a population of
approximately 28,000. Its access to
Routes 80, 287, 10, 46, 206 and the train; make it ideal for commuters.
Established in 1740, Roxbury has a rich history – but is a
modern town. Predominately a residential
town with mostly single-family homes, there are also townhomes, apartments and
condos. There are some homes located on
larger lots. Roxbury has a large
commercial area with shopping areas and businesses. The township abounds with recreational areas
and parks.

Lake Recreation Complex
Is
a beautiful site which offers Imagination Station playground, picnic areas, a
lake with designated swimming area, shade structures and sprinkler park,
fishing, lighted basketball courts, two volleyball courts, four
softball/baseball fields, and soccer fields. The park also features a ½ mile
walking path, and a 1.7 mile paved bikeway/walking/running path. The West
Morris Greenway, a branch of Patriots Path, connects with the park and adds a
5-mile path to Chester. A 40’x80’ pavilion is available for large group
gatherings, along with a covered stage area. The Island hosts a scenic gazebo
with surrounding benches. The Veteran’s Memorial Park is located within the
park. Special events are held in the park year-round. Location: 72 Eyland

Berkshire Valley Park
A neighborhood playground with a 1/8 mile walking path,
surrounding a baseball field. This park includes a newly renovated tennis
court, plus a court lined for basketball, street hockey and Foursquare.

Black
River Park
Is located on the Black River Pond and offers benches and a
picnic area pondside. There is a trail through wooded areas along the Black
River, which links up to Mine Hill and Randolph trails. More info at www.hikeroxbury.org.

Dell Avenue Park
Offers a fenced-in playground area geared toward younger
children, and includes picnic tables. It also contains basketball courts and
baseball fields. Location: 56 N. Dell Avenue, Kenvil.
Emmans Park
Contains soccer fields, a baseball field and an updated dog park,
containing fun accouterments such as a fire hydrant, a bridge and a tube.
Location: 75 Emmans Road, Ledgewood.
Orben
Park
Contains the Ice Age Trail, which is a 1.3 mile hike with some
steep areas, trekking up and down the hillside. Beautiful views from the ridge
line, overlooking Mt. Arlington and Landing. More info at www.hikeroxbury.org.

Kiwanis
Park
Offers
a new playground, lighted baseball fields, and three newly resurfaced lighted
tennis courts. Location: 9 Makin Lane, Succasunna.

Amenities
include three sodded softball fields with sport field lighting, concession
stand, bathrooms, an exciting playground for all ages including a 12 ft. tower
and climbing rocks, picnic tables and a half-mile walking path. Location:

Ledgewood
Park/Morris Canal Park
Together are comprised of over 250 acres of forest land,
offering a fishing pond and hiking trails. For viewing, remnants of the
restored Morris Canal are along the trail. Location: Emmans Road, Ledgewood;
turn at Morris Canal Park driveway, which is between #8 and #10 Emmans Road.
Midland Park
Offers a small pond surrounded by a natural area with a wooded
path. Location: 9 Midland Road, Succasunna.
Mooney Mountain Park/Conkling Pond
Is a neighborhood park containing a playground area and a paved
basketball court. Neighboring Conkling Pond is a perfect spot to fish.
Location: Intersection of Conkling Road and Kennedy Drive on Mooney Mountain in
Flanders.
Nalron Park
Contains one softball field. Location: 67 Emmans Road,
Ledgewood.
Port
Morris Park
Offers a playground area, a basketball court, and a softball

Shore
Hills Park
Is a neighborhood park area with a playground. Location: 83 Vail
Road, Landing.
Righter Road Fields

Veteran’s Park
Offers 240 acres of wooded land containing hiking trails, which
offer scenic views of the Succasunna Valley. Four hiking trails to choose from.
